OUR PROGRAMS

Our dance curriculum is designed to instill discipline, creativity, and joy—led by experienced instructors who truly care about each student’s growth.

We offer expert instruction in the following classes:


Dance With Me (Ages 2–3 with Grown-Up) – 30 Minutes

Discover the joy of movement in this playful and engaging class designed for our youngest dancers and their grown-ups! Together, you'll explore music, rhythm, and basic dance steps using whimsical props and imaginative play. This fun-filled 30-minute class encourages bonding, builds coordination, and inspires a lifelong love for dance, all in a supportive and creative environment.

Combo Dance - Level 1 (age 3) & Level 2 (Pre-K & Kindergarten) (1 Hour)

This high-energy, one-hour class introduces dancers to the fundamentals of tap, ballet, and tumbling in a fun and supportive environment. Using age-appropriate music and movement, dancers will build coordination, rhythm, flexibility, and strength. Each class encourages creativity and expression, helping young dancers learn to tell stories through dance while developing a solid foundation in multiple dance styles.

Combo Dance - Level 3 (Grades 1st & 2nd) (1 Hour)

This dynamic one-hour class combines tap, ballet, and jazz to continue building a strong dance foundation. Dancers will focus on age-appropriate technique, musicality, and performance skills while exploring each style in an engaging and encouraging environment. With an emphasis on both discipline and fun, this class helps dancers grow in confidence, expression, and love for dance.

Combo Jazz/Tap - Level 4 (Grades 3rd & 4th) Level 5 (Grades 5th & 6th) (1 Hour)

This exciting one-hour class blends jazz and tap, building on foundational skills while encouraging dancers to explore movement, musicality, and style. Dancers will continue developing technical strength, while growing in confidence and performance quality. With an emphasis on self-expression and creativity, this class inspires dancers to take their training to the next level in a fun, supportive atmosphere.

Ballet – Level 4 (Grades 3rd & 4th) & Level 5 (Grades 5th & 6th) (1 Hour)

These one-hour ballet classes are designed for dancers ready to deepen their understanding of classical ballet technique. Dancers will focus on alignment, strength, flexibility, and musicality, while refining movement quality and artistry. Through structured barre and center work, this class builds discipline, confidence, and performance presence, supporting continued growth in both technique and expression.

Ballet – Level 6 (Grades 7th & 8th) & Level 7 (Grades 9th & up) (1.5 Hours)

These advanced ballet classes are designed for experienced dancers who are ready to refine their technique, strength, and artistry. Class includes comprehensive barre and center work, with a strong emphasis on precision, control, and performance quality. Pointe work may be included for students who have been individually evaluated and approved by the instructor. Dancers will be challenged to grow in their technical ability and expressiveness in a focused, supportive environment.


Jazz – Level 6 (Grades 7th & 8th) & Level 7 (Grades 9th & up) (1.5 Hours)

This high-energy, 1.5-hour class challenges dancers to advance their technique, strength, and style while developing dynamic performance skills. Through center work, across-the-floor progressions, and choreography, dancers will explore a variety of jazz styles from classic to contemporary, while focusing on precision, musicality, and expression. Perfect for committed dancers looking to take their training to the next level in a supportive and motivating environment.
Tap – Level 6 (Grades 7th & 8th) & Level 7 (Grades 9th & up) (1 Hour)

This rhythm-packed tap class focuses on advancing technical skill, musicality, and clarity of sound. Dancers will explore complex footwork, timing, and syncopation, while building speed, precision, and performance quality. Through choreography and improvisation, students are encouraged to develop their individual style and confidence in a fun, energetic environment.
Beginner Acrobatics (1 Hour)

This fun and foundational class introduces dancers to the basics of acrobatic movement in a safe, supportive environment. Students will build strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination while learning beginner-level skills such as forward rolls, bridges, handstands, and cartwheels. With a focus on proper technique and body awareness, this class helps dancers gain confidence and control - perfect for those just starting their acro journey!

Intermediate Acrobatics (1.5 Hours)

Designed for dancers with a solid foundation in acro, this one-hour class focuses on building strength, control, and flexibility while progressing to more advanced skills. Dancers will work on movements such as back walkovers, aerial prep, handstand variations, and limbers, with an emphasis on technique, transitions, and safe spotting. This class encourages continued growth in body awareness, confidence, and performance-quality movement.

Advanced Acrobatics (1.5 Hours)

This challenging 1.5-hour class is designed for experienced acro students ready to push their strength, flexibility, and technical skill to the next level. Dancers will work on advanced skills such as aerials, back handsprings, chest stands, and advanced tumbling passes, with a strong focus on fluid transitions, control, and performance quality. Proper technique and safety remain a priority as dancers build confidence, creativity, and precision in their acrobatic movement.
Musical Theatre (Elementary Age – 1 Hour) (Middle & High School – 1 Hour)

Step into the spotlight in this fun and energetic class that combines dance, acting, and storytelling! Dancers will explore movement inspired by popular Broadway-style musicals while learning to express character and emotion through facial expressions, gestures, and stage presence. With a focus on performance quality, storytelling, and confidence, this class is perfect for students looking to grow as well-rounded performers in a supportive, creative environment.
Lyrical & Contemporary (Elementary Age – 1 Hour) (Middle & High School – 1 Hour)

This expressive class blends the fluid, emotional movement of lyrical dance with the grounded, innovative style of contemporary. Dancers will explore technique, musicality, and storytelling through choreography that encourages personal expression and artistic growth. With a focus on improvisation, connection to music, and dynamic movement, this class helps dancers build both technical strength and emotional depth as performers.
Hip Hop (Elementary Age - 1 Hour) (Middle & High School - 1 Hour)

Bring the energy and learn to move with confidence in this upbeat, one-hour class! You'll master hip hop fundamentals, explore freestyle, and perform fun, dynamic choreography set to today’s top tracks. Open to all levels, no experience needed. Just come ready to dance, sweat, and express yourself!
Leaps & Turns - Level 5 (Grades 5th & 6th), Level 6 (Grades 7th & 8th) & Level 7 (Grades 9th & up) (1 Hour)

This technique-focused class is designed to strengthen and refine dancers' jumping and turning abilities. Dancers will work on a variety of leaps, jumps, pirouettes, and turn sequences, with emphasis on proper alignment, control, flexibility, and strength. Across-the-floor progressions and combinations will challenge dancers to improve both technical execution and performance quality, making this class a perfect complement to any dance training program.


Private voice lessons are available for students of all levels.

Whether you’re preparing for auditions or just want to gain confidence in your singing, our personalized instruction helps students strengthen their vocal ability and stage presence.

Vocal lessons are taught by a classically trained singer with a degree in Vocal Performance and Theatre from Kansas State University.

WithdrawAL from class

If your student is not able to complete the school year, notice must be given by the 15th of the month prior to dropping. Drops for upcoming month will not be accepted after the 15th. 

dress code

Each level is required to wear a class leotard, tights, and specific shoes in correlation with class. These can be purchased via the online store found in the parent portal. Payment must be received before order is placed. 

Level 4-7 ballet classes are required to wear pink tights and may wear a ballet skirt.

Hair:
Level 4-7 ballet classes require a ballet bun. 
All other classes require hair to be adequately pulled back from the face.

If dancers arrive to class without an appropriate hairstyle, a teacher will assist in putting their hair in suitable style.

recital

Is recital mandatory?
No, recital is not mandatory for non-company members but is highly encouraged. If a dancer is unable to participate in the recital, they are still encouraged to participate in class and learn the recital material.

What does recital entail?
Each participant is charged a recital fee, and one costume fee per class. The recital fee includes 4 tickets to the performance. All additional tickets will be $12 per ticket.

Are rehearsals mandatory?
Yes, all recital rehearsals are mandatory for all participating dancers. A recital handbook will be distributed in advance with all recital information, and dates. 

inclement weather

In the event of inclement weather, we will follow the Shawnee Mission School District closing for SNOW.

LPAC will not close for cold weather. Please follow in social media, and check email and parent portal for updates.

If LPAC is closed due to the weather, there will be a makeup class provided, no refunds will be given.
